Terms of Use

Effective 5 October 2026 · Questions: hello@metacube.digital

These terms cover sending us files through metacube.digital. They do not replace a signed agreement — if you have one with us and it says something different, that document governs. The short version: your link is a credential, your material stays yours, and uploads are deleted after 30 days, so keep your own copy.

What these terms cover

These terms govern use of the file upload service at metacube.digital, operated by Metacube Digital, a studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

They do not replace any signed agreement between us. If you have a proposal, statement of work or contract with Metacube Digital and it says something different from this page, that document governs. This page covers the mechanics of sending us files, nothing more.

Who may use it

The service is available to people we have issued an access link to, for the purpose of sending material relating to work we are doing together. It is not a public service and there is no sign-up.

If you received a link but were not expecting one, please tell us at hello@metacube.digital rather than using it.

Keep your access link private

Your link contains an access code. Anyone who has it can upload files to your project's folder, so it should be treated as a credential rather than a web address.

You are responsible for who you share it with. Tell us promptly if it may have reached someone it should not have, and we will revoke it and issue a new one — that is a routine request, not an imposition.

We may revoke or expire a link at any time, and links expire on their own by default.

Keep your own copy

Uploaded files are deleted automatically 30 days after they arrive. The service is a delivery mechanism, not storage or backup.

You must retain your own copy of anything you send. We are not liable for loss of material that exists only because you uploaded it to us, and we cannot recover a file once the retention period has passed.

What you may not upload

  • Material you do not have the right to share with us
  • Malicious software, or files intended to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any system
  • Content that is unlawful to possess or transmit
  • Personal information beyond what the work actually requires — if a smaller or redacted set would do, please send that instead

Your material stays yours

You keep all rights in what you upload. Nothing here transfers ownership of your content, your brand, or anything else you send.

You grant us only what we need to do the work: permission to store, process and use the material for the purposes of our engagement with you. That permission ends when the engagement does, subject to any records we are required to retain.

Confidentiality

We treat everything you send as confidential. We do not sell it, publish it, or use it to train machine learning models, and we do not use it in our portfolio or marketing without asking you first.

The service is provided as is

We work to keep the upload service available and functioning, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It depends on third-party infrastructure we do not control.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

This clause limits our liability for the free upload utility only. It does not limit our obligations under a signed agreement for paid work — those are governed by that agreement.

Suspension

We may suspend or revoke access to the service where a link appears to be compromised, where the service is being misused, or where we are required to.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

We may update these terms, and will change the effective date above when we do. Where a change materially affects clients using the service, we will tell them directly.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we hold, where it is stored, and for how long. It is a description of how the system actually works rather than a generic statement, and it is worth reading alongside these terms.
